I had the pleasure to see Social Media Guru Dan Zelikman talk a couple of weeks ago at the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce Event. It was at Dan’s first Social Media Seminar that I first heard of Foursquare, now 12 badges later, i had the chance to hear what’s new in Social Media. This was a Seminar for Small Business’ in Hawaii. Dan currently works at Civilbeat.com- Hawaii’s on-line only newspaper. and you can find him at danzelikman.com Here are the Highlights:

A Pint for a Pint

I heard a fun idea on the radio today and it was called “A Pint for a Pint”.  Basically all Memorial Day weekend long-you can go to a mall and the Bloodbank will take a pint of blood from you and give you certificate for a free pint of Baskin Robbins Ice cream.  I like the sound of this promotion, nice name and it has a good pay off.  Only thing in my mind (for  a person adverse to needles and hasnt given blood in a few years) is a Pint of blood sounds like a lot of blood!

Promotion:  A-  Name-A+ Ease of Exection-A because you dont have to go to the Blood Bank you can go to your local mall.  Only downside is a Pint sounds like a lot, thus over all grade-B+

Option for improvement:  Let people like me know that a pint isnt really too  much at all.  Not sure but maybe its the regular amount that you give normally?  Not sure, Do you know?
